Moogsoft is being used as a core MOM (Manager Of manager Tool) in our organization. In every since IT services Management deal there has to be an event collecting and segregation tool apart from elementary layer tool and that's where Moogsoft comes into the picture. We integrate it with Monitoring tools and ITSM layer tools to provide end to end monitoring services.

Moogsoft is well suited in below scenarios -

1. If you are looking for a Event Management layer tools.

2. If you are looking for event correlations, suppression and enhancement feature before opening a ticket in ITSM layer tool.

3. If you are looking for enabling corrective actions even before opening a ticket at MOM layer and AI-ML capabilities in monitoring world.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Moogsoft is being used as an Event Management tool and acts as an event entry 2nd layer tool. In most of the architecture, there are primary monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, LogicMonitor, Solarwinds, etc which collects monitoring data and events and forwards the same to Moogsoft which then processes the same and takes out meaningful information and then passes on to the ITSM layer for ticketing and reporting.

Moogsoft is a very good event management tool that not only fulfills the event handling requirement but on top of it does the following:

1. Event Handling from multiple data sources.

2. Scalable solution and includes multi-tenancy

3. Out-of-the-box integrations and customized options are available.

4. AIOps and ML capabilities.

5. Cost optimized solution

We use Moogsoft to automate the collection and retrieval of log data files from disparate devices across our environment. We wish it could also collect config files, like what we see coming from other AIOps providers in the industry today. Moogsoft works for what it's supposed to, we just wish it was more customizable.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is able to perform as it is supposed to and it does a good job of what it's advertised to do, but we see other offerings with a lot more capabilities and a lot more available customizations. For example, things like predictive capabilities using machine learning and AI, in order to prevent outages.
