The best browser Ive used-- for more than 10 years

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Mozilla Firefox is an ideal browser for an organization like mine that works in many different sectors (education, healthcare, community services, and research.) Because it has a great capacity for customization, Mozilla Firefox allows me to change the platform to suit my specific business needs across different sectors and contexts. Plugins are easy to add and offer value in many different settings.

Pros

  • Ease of customization
  • User experience and ease of use
  • Password saving
  • Data security

Cons

  • Unexpected crashes or errors slightly too often
  • Download function is not always intuitive (too many places to click)
  • Updates too frequent

Likelihood to Recommend

Firefox is ideal for users who are tech-proficient and eager to customize their browsing experience to meet exactly their needs. It is best for people who are very contemplative and thoughtful about their experience of using web browsers and want more than an out-of-the-box or clunky experience offered by pre-loaded browsers.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using Mozilla Firefox personally and professionally for almost 20 years. As an IT professional, I regularly use all three major browsers but Firefox has always been easy to use and easy to control. The other browsers were much harder to make do what you wanted, how you wanted. Today, the other browsers are falling in line but Firefox is still the most comfortable to use.

Pros

  • Access to downloads
  • Control of bookmarks
  • Keeping useful controls easily accessible

Cons

  • Managing Extensions

Likelihood to Recommend

Firefox is well suited for any browsing situation. I always recommend having all three major browsers in case you run across a website that acts funny, You can try another to check the site, but in my experience, there hasn't been an issue like that for Firefox in a long time.

Used every day, all day for business purposes. Web searches, bookmarks, etc. It's fast, reliable, and cuts through a lot of the spam ads I get with other browsers. I love the extensions and have never had any major issues. It feels safe and secure, gives me nice peace of mind as I am using it for work. Will be a user for life!

Pros

  • Security
  • Speed
  • Stability

Cons

  • Ad blocking
  • Password Fill
  • More extensions

Likelihood to Recommend

It's very well suited to business. I can safely browse the web without worrying about security issues. It's fast, free, and offers enough extensions to get anything I need done. I like the customizability as well. Dark mode is a nice eye saver. I can open 50 tabs with no slowdowns. Bookmarks are easily managed.

Mozilla - A good product with some issues

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used it in a prior iteration, both at work and on my home computer. At this time my current employer doesn't use Mozilla Firefox as our default browser.

One of the things I like about Mozilla Firefox is its ease of use. The interface is very intuitive, and easy to manage my favorites and saved history with.

Pros

  • User Interface
  • Ease of Use
  • Good data management

Cons

  • I found the browser was unstable sometimes.
  • Loss of bookmarks if there is an upgrade to my operating system.

Likelihood to Recommend

For a good experience at home, I recommend Firefox. For work purposes, with regular or irregular updates to our systems, it made Firefox unstable, and difficult to manage. There were several instances where Firefox started up and froze for minutes at a time, again mainly due to upgrades. I suggest a full review of impacted systems before every upgrade, and keeping restore as an option, fully backing up everything before an update.

Mozilla is excellent at what it does, but third-party updates, particularly in Windows, sometimes cause it to malfunction.

Firefox Reliable Secure and Flexible for All Users.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Firefox as my secondary browser. My primary browser is reserved for intranet access, while Firefox serves as a technical browser thanks to its highly configurable behavior. I use it with TamperMonkey to run local scripts, and FoxyProxy to access secured business appliances that require specific routing. This setup allows for a clear separation between human browsing and technical tasks.

Pros

  • Debugging tools.
  • Customizability.
  • Privacy and Tracking Protection.

Cons

  • Extension Compatibility.
  • First start information.

Likelihood to Recommend

The good point is that with some extensions, such as Foxy Proxy, you have complete control over the browser. Firefox is a great choice for power users, developers, or anyone focused on privacy. The worst scenario may not always be the best fit as a primary browser for general enterprise use.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Mozilla Firefox while researching a project and data mining. I find it to be easier to use than the alternatives and the plug ins allow me to customize it to my needs.

Pros

  • Extremely user friendly
  • Far less vulnerabilities to Malware
  • Easy access to a page's source code

Cons

  • I miss Adobe Flash. It was foundational to so much content
  • An internal Malware cleaning feature
  • A better on board ad blocker

Likelihood to Recommend

The dropping of Flash support makes things more difficult for archiving historical content, tho there are extensions to help with this.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Firefox as second browser. The main one is for the intranet. Firefox is used as a technical browser combinées with us highly configurable behaviour. It os use with tamper monkey to execute local scripts, and foxy proxy to accès the secured business appliance that require specific routing. Having this browser enalble a good separation between human and technical browsing.

Pros

  • Switching context
  • Debugging tools
  • Customization

Cons

  • First start information

Likelihood to Recommend

The best scenarios is when you need to tweak your brower to test specific route to APIs using socks server or jumphost or VPN connection. The good point is that with somme extension like foxyproxy you have all the control of the browser.
The worst scenario and it's the same for all browser is when you want to use the same browser for : internet, internal website, technical site and dev.
Having several browser is the best in class options.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Mozilla Firefox for multiple tasks, but primarily to access vendor websites for benefit administration. It allows me to switch easily between tasks and have multiple tabs open at the same time. It is a browser that functions well with different types of websites. Mozilla Firefox allows our organization to tackle complex tasks in a user friendly environment.

Pros

  • Navigating multiple websites
  • Syncing with a password manager
  • Opening secure documents

Cons

  • Some websites do not function correctly
  • Favorited websites are not found as easily
  • Need to refresh websites at times

Likelihood to Recommend

In my experience, Mozilla Firefox is one of the most user friendly browsers available. I know employees who use it who are very familiar with technology and prefer it to other options. At the same time, employees who are less familiar with technology find Mozilla Firefox to be accessible. I have not found a scenario where it was not appropriate.
