Pros
Helpful Search Features: Many users have found the keyword search and location search features in Nutshell CRM to be very helpful for tracking their account on the map and for follow-ups. Some reviewers appreciated receiving email notifications ahead of time, making it easier for them to stay organized and keep track of important tasks.
Color-Coded System: The color-coded system in Nutshell CRM has been highly praised by reviewers. Emails represented in blue, notes in yellow/orange, and calls in white make it easy for users to understand what is going on at a glance. This feature enhances user experience by providing visual cues that help them quickly identify different types of activities.
Real-Time Activity View: Reviewers have appreciated the real-time view of their activities on the home page of Nutshell CRM. Being able to see the calls they made, who they contacted, any notes left, and if emails were sent provides users with valuable insights into their daily progress. This information is updated almost instantly, allowing users to stay up-to-date with their tasks and make informed decisions based on real-time data.
It is used throughout the organization. It follows projects through all stages and allows easy access for all associates to be able to answer customer's questions.
Pros
streamlines sales process
allows easy access for all associates to help customers
ensures consistent experience for all customers
Cons
integration with email doesn't work as advertised
would like integration with quickbooks
If there is a misspelling in any one email address, you can not send a mass email. You must go back and correct each error before it can send.

Nutshell is very customizable making it a good fit for smaller companies with out huge budgets for these services. I would think in a larger scale business, you would want a system that is specifically designed for the particular industry.
Nutshell CRM is used in two of our divisions that perform outbound marketing and sales calls. We use Nutshell to store contact information for our current customers, inactive accounts, partners, and prospective customers. We log activities, run reports, communicate internally, and use features of Nutshell to plan outside sales trips all over the U.S. Nutshell CRM is the heart of our main marketing/sales divisions and our customer service division will often reach out to us for insight on new customers or inactive accounts.
Pros
Customization - we are able to make Nutshell make the most sense for our company and processes
Scheduling - the ability to set tasks allows us to never forget a follow-up call or email
Tags - allow us to prioritize leads and segment our customers and potential customers
Communication - the ability to tag colleagues in notes for callbacks or updates to accounts is very helpful to keep everyone on the same page
Email History - being able to blind copy all our email communication to Nutshell, allows us to have email threads and notes all in one place
Cons
Special characters - although I know this is very difficult to resolve, we have always had an issue with being able to search or match up companies that have $, &, or @ in their name
Integration - we use a couple of different programs as often as Nutshell that doesn't currently integrate with the platform. The main one being our webcam video program BombBomb.com, not a deal-breaker but it would be nice to integrate to go along with our activities and emails
Mobile App - we do use the mobile app when we do outside sales trips and it works well for inputting notes with the talk-to-text feature. There are some features that are not available on the mobile app that would be nice though.

We refer our partners to Nutshell CRM often so they can store all of their client and potential client information in one place. It has been a great tool for us to grow our relationships with prospective customers. It is a great way to stay organized with working on a team where you will receive callbacks or work together to gain business.
The Business Development team uses Nutshell. There are four of us who regularly enter client/partner/competitor information, including contact info, hot/pain points, SWOT (hot/pain points and SWOT are entered in custom fields... there is not a spot for those), and activities/notes/emails. Then another person runs the weekly reports and inputs information from other people in the company who may have interactions with client/partner/competitor people. We also use the tagging functionality to categorize certain people/groups.
Pros
Customizable Dashboard
Customized Reports
Duplicate Warnings
Customizeable Pipelines and Accompanying Activities
Cons
SWOT analysis --- currently we put this in as custom fields but they don't link up at all and are hard to read/navigate. We also use the custom fields for other information we want to capture. It would be nice to build those in so they can show the info as bullet points or something --- currently paragraph form and hard to find things at a glance.
Funnel could use some work. Only shows how many leads are currently in that part of the pipeline which doesn't give us a good historical comparison.

I think Nutshell CRM would be a better fit for a more retail environment. Construction is a long game and I don't think some of the functionality is catered to that type of environment. Nutshell IS great at setting up whatever pipelines your company needs in its process and customizing each phase of those pipelines. The reports are also really easy to navigate and customize. Any salesperson can see exactly where they are and how they should move forward. I also like that it can sync with your calendar and email. That can work well for a salesperson and make them more efficient.
Nutshell is used by each office as his/her CRM. It's great so there's a record (and report as needed) of contact with prospects and clients.
Pros
Ties in social media without my input
Easy reports
Great dashboard with simple filters
Cons
Email integration seems nice but hard to "undo".
Web search to find a contacts picture doesn't work.
I wish it had notifications via Chrome for me to do list and contact prospects.

Nutshell CRM is great for a small office or self-employed business. I LOVE the blind carbon copy feature so I can see contact with Contacts. Pricing is very affordable.
We use Nutshell CRM for a few different things. It helps us keep track of businesses, individuals in that business, and what activity needs to be done with them. It also helps with timelines, and general knowledge of a leads for different projects we are tracking. Nutshell CRM is mainly used by our sales and spec teams, although everyone in our company has access to the basics of Nutshell should they need it. It has addressed problems such as the timing of activities, and the team all being on the same page as they all have access to every activity, meeting, notes, etc.
Pros
Nutshell is great with reminders from calls, emails, meetings, and activities it helps you track all of the necessary every day must-do activities.
The best thing about Nutshell CRM is that multiple team members can refer to it whether they are in the office or on the road. Nutshell is great on a PC, Mac, or pretty much any mobile device.
One of the many things that I personally like about Nutshell is how user-friendly it is. Once you work with it for a day or two everything is super easy to manage.
Cons
In my line of work having multiple email attachments are needed and Nutshell has yet to improve that function.
I would say that Nutshell needs more options for activities. Currently, you are very limited in the types of activities you can set reminders for.
Unless I missed it someplace, when preventing your next activity it would be nice to be able to scroll over said activity and get a little message box next to it with a preview of that activity. That way I can remember more for that activity and decide quickly if I need to do that activity or push it off for another time.

Nutshell CRM is great if you are a super-busy person. On one hand, the reminder functions and ease of use are amazing for busy individuals such as me. On the other hand, Nutshell is less appropriate for me when I need to send large attachments with an email as that is something I am seeing a need for more and more each day!
I started using Nutshell CRM when I was Director of Sales and Marketing at DJG Investigative Services, Inc. I since have moved to the Operations department but remained available to teach the marketing team how to use Nutshell and other programs. For us, it addressed the problem of organizing leads.
Pros
Ease of use
Designed well
Cloud-based
Cons
Very costly for a small business
Takes a while to learn all the features
Cloud-based (both positives and negatives)

I think Nutshell is well suited for companies that are more 1- or 2-man operations, working from home situations. I think for us, it was a better value to just buy a license at a one time fee, and be done with it. The never-ending monthly charges were exhausting.
At my recommendation, Nutshell has been used by at least five of my consulting clients for managing a sales process, pipeline, and customer/prospect records. Nutshell was used primarily in the sales departments, but also mixed sometimes with the marketing teams who needed to run email campaigns or pull customer information from Nutshell.
Nutshell is a comprehensive and easy way to get a team ramped up on the sales process. It's simple and easy to get teams going quickly and following procedures and being productive. You don't have to waste a lot of time on training, set-up, or management.
Pros
Viewing the Leads list is great. Viewing it as a list, or in a visual format on a Board is very helpful. The filters are also awesome for creating custom views into your Leads and only focusing on specific segments at a time.
Nutshell makes it very easy to reach out to contacts on a regular basis. With reminders, scheduling, and email templates, it's truly a piece of cake to make this all happen.
Nutshell's mobile app is also very nice. It doesn't allow you to do everything, but walking to work every day, I'm able to see at a single glance what needs to get done, and also to make phone calls and outreach with just a click.
Cons
Although Nutshell has a nice duplicate-finding feature, it only does this *after* data has been imported. It could be better at finding, removing, or merging duplicates during import.
I wish there was more flexibility in adding our own products to the system. We have some complex subscription products and they don't always fit into the fields that Nutshell allows.
Likelihood to Recommend
Great for small to medium-sized teams, without having to manage the system and always mess with it (like Salesforce). I really can't think of any reason why *not* to use Nutshell other than having a very large team with many territories and sales restrictions. Implementations like that are doable on Nutshell, but probably require more administrative handling and more time to devote (probably not unlike any other CRM tool).
We are using Nutshell as our CRM for the sales team here at SCS. It's used by 4 people in whole, and it helps us keep ourselves organized when we're not in the office. Our previous CRM was installed locally and had minimal remote access, so having a fully web-based CRM was a huge help for us!
Pros
Plenty of functionality without becoming a chore to set up and maintain.
Remote access via a browser.
Mobile app (iOS and Android).
Cross-platform (PC or Mac) support.
Cons
The integration with Google Calendar is great, but every now and then I'll end up with duplicate entries.
Advanced searching is available, but doesn't always provide 100% accurate results.
Likelihood to Recommend
Nutshell is well-suited for small to mid-sized organizations who need a robust and straightforward CRM, but don't want to spend weeks setting up, configuring, and maintaining a system like SalesForce. I've found that we've been able to do everything we need to do (and more) with Nutshell, and I continue to find new features being added regularly to enhance an already great product.
We use it to manage our sales funnel and followup schedule. The sales department uses it the most but we sometimes utilize it to store client information. It centralizes our sales efforts into one location with all relevant information attached.
Pros
It is very customizable. I was able to go in and tinker with our Lead Stages as often as needed which meant our business could really utilize the functions of Nutshell in the best way for us.
I love the Dashboard timeline because I can go through any bcc@nutshell emails and correctly categorize, tag, and attach them to leads without having to involve other sales people.
I also like that you can attach products to your leads and assign them monetary values. While we only sell services, it is great to be able to name the product whatever you choose and individually assign a dollar amount per each opportunity.
Cons
I would love to see the timeline bar be able to fill my whole dashboard screen.
I would love to see tags carry over between companies and people that are synced together.

It is easy to use and really customizable once you get the hang of it!
