Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Perplexity is our main AI tool that we use for all departments within our organization. We use it for deep research, creating documents, summarizing documents, and much more.

Pros

  • You can drop a document in there and it will summarize it for you with ease.
  • You can drop multiple documents in there and it will compare them and provide a summary of the contents.
  • You can do deep research any topics with great detail provided.

Cons

  • It uses too many credits for tasks that you didn't realize were going to need credits.
  • You have to make sure you have the right version selected before you begin your research. It's not the easiest place to find.

Return on Investment

  • We were able to create a portal using the research in Perplexity that allowed us to discontinue the use of a software that cost us 3k a month to run
  • It has increased productivity within our administrative rolls

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The main use I have for Perplexity is to enhance my search skills a thousand fold. Not only is accurate but It also helps explore new avenues of research by offering insightful suggestions. If for example we are looking for government grants It Will search in parallel in the local administrations as well as in different government bodies. A very smart tool indeed.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used a personal Perplexity account to complete complex coding tasks last year as part of my role in a learning team. These tasks were not common tasks for a learning design team leader, and included Power BI, Power Automate and other technical programming languages such as DAX. It was a great tool for finding answers across sites, and complex requests.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I create a space in Perplexity, which is essentially a persona that describes my company and what I sell. I also upload collateral for what I sell. Then I query Perplexity with questions relative to prospects I am selling to, using their name, title, and the company they work for.

Pros

  • Research the company that my prospects work for.
  • Research background on my prospects.
  • Combine those two and come up with about one page on how to approach them based on the space (persona) I created.

Cons

  • Sometimes navigation is a little tricky.
  • I would appreciate a better delineation when asking questions about different prospects. Currently, I have to re-enter the space to create a separate question thread.
  • Maybe more suggestions on how to use it for what I am trying to accomplish.
