It is well suited for performing monitoring and testing from a single device. It is less appropriate if you have to monitor from multiple different endpoints. That type of deployment would be more of an enterprise application. If you are looking for an end user monitoring solution then PingPlotter is the one for you.

If you need to monitor more than 2 IP addresses, PingPlotter Pro is the way to go. Simple to set up and easy to understand, PingPlotter should be your go-to solution.

The best scenario and best results are seen when the path does not reuse the same device for the "next hop". It is less well suited in situations where the path is being tricked by the re-use of devices for the next interface. This is seen required in many networks where the proper type of connection is not on an end device and the core device is used to provide a fiber to copper sort of "pass-through" connection.

PingPlotter was perfect for a before and after change related to network infrastructure. We were able to easily identify and pinpoint the hops where latency occurred and if it was related to our internal change or if it is external and out of our control. If the issue resided with the ISP we could open a ticket with them and provide the PingPlotter share link so the techs could see the results as well. The program gets the jobs done but could use some improvement related to an updated user interface.

PingPlotter is great if you would like to monitor one or many targets, and see what routes they take, and how it changes over time. If you would like to have a bit more detailed information, you have to go for external sources (like country, ASN, etc... information). If you are looking for that kind of information, some other tool might be better.

The tool is useful and is a quick tool compared to proprietary network product tools. The remote login interface is simple and easy to navigate to find the tools needed. Charts helps with managing stakeholders and incident queries. Probably will still fall back to the network product tools when there is further investigations needed, but this tool helps to provide a quick look at the network and decide on the next steps.

PingPlotter is an amazing and easy-to-use network monitoring and diagnostics tool. In today's age where we are so heavily reliant on networks and the internet, PingPlotter is a must-have tool for any organization that relies on technology. It is light-weight and also provides a free version to help us decide if it's a useful offering for us. It also includes latency monitoring and alerting which are life-savers for us.

PingPlotter is well suited for any Network Admin or IT guy who needs real-time data monitoring of a network. With the PingPlotter tool, you can easily monitor endpoints and troubleshoot your own problems before having to call technical support. You can also share your data relatively easily as well as do more than one trace at once.

I am the kind of person who dots the I’s and crosses the t’s and I was in search of a tool who would do the same and trust me it was so time taking and hard to look for the network issues before PingPlotter but after it, things have become quite great and I would recommend it to the companies in search of a good and active diagnostic tool that would reduce the time of troubleshooting as well and in such scenario, it is a most favorable one.

PingPlotter is a great tool for troubleshooting and my Techs love it, and we will use it when doing initial devices discoveries on new customers. PingPlotter has saved us time and money and has reduced the time it takes for the sale team to create proposals. PingPlotter allows us to create more accurate proposals based on the actual devices on a network.

PingPlotter is great if all you need is a simple latency monitoring tool and the ability to see specifically where packets are being dropped in a nice graphical interface. This can be done with things like WinMTR but what sets it aside from tools like this is it can be run as a service so constant monitoring is available. The alerting is also very useful and flexible.
However, when you need detailed monitoring this is obviously not the correct tool.
