Pros

  • Intuitive user interface and navigation
  • Efficient expense and reimbursement management
  • Streamlined employee onboarding and administration

Cons

  • Complex user interface and mobile app navigation
  • Limited flexibility in medical insurance contribution configuration
  • Inconsistent synchronization within payroll and benefits

Best Company to use for managing your company.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Rippling to manage our financial matters, 401(k) distributions, PTO requests, and company credit cards. Rippling, as of late, has been addressing 401(k) distribution issues. The last company they used was not doing well, so they switched to a different one. Things went well until the company was bought out, and Rippling had to find another solution.

Pros

  • Rippling does a good job of making their website very user friendly.
  • They also make managing employees and benefits very well.
  • They handle the 401k distribution and which company is used very well also.

Cons

  • Rippling could improve their payment days. Currently they make employee payments around the 15th and 30th of the month, but it varies slightly with every month. It would make more sense to do this payment on every other Friday or every other Monday.

Return on Investment

  • We do not usually use rippling for this type of thing, so I cannot add anything to this section.

Usability

Rippling for property management company.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for business card spending. It solved receipt management and expense reports.

Pros

  • Ease of use for receipt upload.
  • Portal is modern and slick.
  • The text notifications are great.

Cons

  • I think the portal can be chopped down and have less menus to make it simpler.
  • Maybe a slicker interface for eye pleasure.
  • Adding card details are a little clunky.

Return on Investment

  • It has had a positive ROI to help track expenses better.

Usability

An Easy and Painless Solution to Get Expenses Done.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

While others in my org use Rippling for several things, in my role, I use it for capturing and submitting expenses. It's definitely been the best expense platform I've used (and I've used quite a few over the years). It's easy to use, very efficient, and offers all the features I need to quickly get expenses done and paid out, saving me a ton of time in the process.

Pros

  • OCR/Automatic Receipt Recognition.
  • Visibility and notifications for everyone involved in the expense approval process.
  • An easy-to-use mobile app.
  • A digital expense card that can be loaded with per diem and used with Apple Pay.

Cons

  • The mobile app navigation could be better streamlined to be more efficient.

Return on Investment

  • Saving employees' time when submitting expenses.
  • A great review/approval process to ensure only appropriate items are getting expensed.

4 out of 5 stars for Rippling. Pros outweigh any cons

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Rippling for time tracking, benefits admin, payroll, performance management, onboarding, and credit card & expense management.

Pros

  • Payroll: it shows exactly what has changed for each individual from cycle to cycle, so I can easily flag any issues
  • Reviews: Very easy to set up and to customize, and able to set different due dates for different aspects of the review process (and set different forward facing and internal due dates)
  • Spend/Finance: Can't say enough about how nice it is to manage our credit cards, expenses, and reimbursements all from our HR platform. It's one of their newer offerings so there are improvements that could be made, but it's still a huge step up for us from how we were managing these, from both the admin side and employee user experience.

Cons

  • Benefits Admin: The main issue we've encountered is in the Benefits module, and that we're not able to fully configure our medical insurance company contributions in the way that we want to. We've opted for a bandaid fix for now, which means that some employees' information is incorrect, and are really hoping that they make product changes before our next Open Enrollment cycle at the end of the year.
  • Payroll/Benefits Deductions: Due to the contributions issue, I have to manually update payroll deductions. This hasn't been quite as smooth as it should be, and there have been some challenges getting the Benefits deductions area to correctly sync with Payroll.
  • Work Emails: We've opted not to connect our company email with Rippling, and because we're not using that feature, it's not allowing us to enter work email addresses at all in individual's profiles. It's not a huge issue, but is inconvenient. Our implementation manager said that there should be a way to fix this, but our account manager wasn't able to provide much guidance so I haven't looked into it further.

Return on Investment

  • Accounting team is able to get month end done quicker due to Rippling Spend - thanks to the ease of use of the credit card and expense management function, employees are staying on top of their expenses and transactions are approved in a timely manner
  • Employees have noticed that the new product is better than our previous one, and voiced approval/thanks
  • The review process (being able to set different due dates for different aspects of process; ability to nominate peer reviews in system) is superior to our previous system and gives our reviews a more polished and less complicated feel

Ease of use and strong UX are Rippling's superpowers

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

At Superdigital, a social-first creative agency, we use Rippling for a number of business matters. I'm a daily/weekly user on the strategy team that often checks Rippling for various needs such as spend management, time and benefits updates, team organization hierarchy, and other uses. I typically submit expense reports and check payroll from time to time.

Pros

  • Site navigation is simple
  • Home dashboard makes key tabs easy to find
  • Protects data with a dual authentication process

Cons

  • Too frequent notifications. Reminders don't need to be sent that often.
  • Make profile more customizable.
  • Could shift menu location for even greater ease of use.
