As a book publisher, Sage has allowed us to better understand our sales flow. Thanks to its inventory tracking, we can monitor product quantities in real time. Alerts notify us of low stock levels and help us better plan book reprints. Sage greatly simplifies invoicing multiple books for the same client while keeping us informed of our current stock levels.

As a self-employed worker, I use Sage Accounting to stay up-to-date on my accounting, account reconciliation, and routinely use it for invoicing. The software is approachable, and I find it meets most of my needs competently, although I find their multi-currency functionality could be better. It has been helpful in bringing my accounts up-to-date across multiple different projects and preparing for taxes.
Pros
Reporting
Ledger of Accounts
Invoicing
Scheduled Invoicing
Bank Accounts
Cons
Multi-Currency Functionality
Automated Transaction Input
Documentation

I find it is well suited for small businesses who need to keep up with their basic accounting needs. It feels like the software has some maturity to it that does make it feel functionally stronger than some of the alternatives for cloud accounting software. I don't think it is well-suited to businesses that deal in multiple currencies.

Sage is great for our accounting needs as a small organization. We have found the level of support to be good and have used the online chat to resolve some issues. It is also integrated with Sage Payroll which is a bonus and cuts out manuall entries between systems.

I think Sage is well suited for a medium to large size business with several to many employees. This does not describe my situation but I chose Sage cloud accounting over Sage 50 because I need to be able to work in the cloud from multiple locations without the need to be tied to one computer.
Using Sage Accounting as the single full accounting platform, from invoicing, revenue and expense tracking, vendor management, and reporting.
Pros
Canada sales tax tracking
Reports
Cons
Multi currency support does not work properly from my experience
GoCardless integration broken for more than one currency
Stripe integration not working for more than one currency in my opinion
Mobile app is poor experience
Bank integrations sync transactions unpredictably I feel
Likelihood to Recommend
The platform has several severe bugs; you pay a higher monthly subscription for the plan that lets you track transactions in multiple currencies but this feature does not work properly or as advertised. Their GoCardless and Stripe integrations do not support currencies more than one, which was confirmed to be a severe bug on Sage Accounting's integration side from my experience. For example, if you make an invoice in USD and have Stripe or GoCardless integrated, it does not let you create a payment link or accept any electronic payment. When you receive a USD Deposit into GoCardless account that's connected with Sage Accounting, Sage completely IGNORES the currency the payment came in and just sets that amount as your account's default currency, with no way to revert or correct this I feel. Because of this they advised me to turn off the GoCardless and Stripe integrations. Example: you received $100 USD payment into GoCardless connected with Sage Accounting but your default account currency is CAD; Sage records the $100 USD as $100CAD which completely messes up the accounting and tax implications since it's a totally different currency. Also, the mobile app is a very poor experience in my opinion. It is very slow, lacks most functionality that's on the web app, and quickbooks' app is much better. The banking integrations also sync at unpredictable times and leave you with unreconciled transactions without being able to pinpoint where they came from.
I enjoy using Sage Accounting for my business. It is very user friendly and makes running my business a lot more efficient as it keeps track of all my financial records and transactions without a lot of effort. I Definitely recommend trying this program out for any business looking to keep track easily of all expenses, invoicing, payroll and the many other financial aspects a company runs into on a day to day basis.
Pros
Invoicing
Payroll
Filing Gst remittances
Cons
Lower pricing on product
Free videos to help when needed
Better app

Sage is well suited for my business needs in the ease of invoicing. I also enjoy the user friendly aspects of the reports. I like how I can find the reports that I need easily and quickly. I find entering information into the general journal very user friendly as well. I also appreciate how easy it is the use the bank reconciliation option as well.
We don't fully utilize our Sage program. I am new to the organization and have not had time to look at how we could be using the program better.
We don't use the PO system. Need to look at job estimating and try to roll out to our employee, who still do job bids on spreadsheets.
I would like to show the users some demonstrations and get them on board to fully utilize the program not make things smoother.
Pros
account payable
receivable
general ledger
Cons
more reporting with out having to get custom reports. Example Top customers for year
Integrated a ar invoice to inventory - If we sell a part we have to got into inventory allocation to remove it from inventory. Could that not happen when invoicing the customer for that part?
Need to understand how the PO system works
inventory isn't utilized fully

So far it is very detailed and easy to supply customers with the information they need. Also, one of the Sage support staff has been fantastic. Transferring data into the program/profile has been an absolute nightmare. Customization is either just not there or extremely confusing.
