For its monthly cost, Sage Accounting is a very powerful and usable accounting system. I have found it very well suited to running a medium sized business encompassing full financial management. Initially, I was doubtful that Sage Accounting would be able to give me all that I needed in terms of processing and financial management. However, I have found that it has enabled me to generate efficiencies in processing and reporting that I had not anticipated.
Sage manages all aspects of our accounting and reporting - we really appreciate how easy it is to use for all our users and for our different divisions. We also appreciate the support and guidance we receive from Sage when we want to do something extra and Sage has the flexibility to cope with that too. Sage provides
Pros
Easy integration with other systems save us so much time and increases accuracy
Great drill down features
Making amendments to the system is very simple
Cons
The reporting functionality is improving all the time but it would be good if the format and headings could be changed
A simpler way to amend the chart of accounts to suit our charity - we are not registered for VAT
The system tries to match banking transactions to our debtors ledger but seems to match on amount rather than debtor and then amount which means we have to avoid accepting transactions where the amount matches but it is the wrong customer.

Sage value their customers and provide great personal support and there is also a wonderful user community which provides further input and support

We mainly use it for monthly accounting . The software is well suited for our needs and flexible enough for our small size and context.
It is difficult to print out customer/supplier lists they do not line up

As a small business the cost of the subscription is £28.80 per month recently asked for another subscription for a new company and the cost had risen to £45 the explanation was because they use Co-Pilot which is AI. I said we didn't want or need this, tough it's there to use. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Found a free software which is just as good if not better than Sage.
Use Sage for day to day accounting including raising and sending sales invoices and keeping purchase ledger up to date as well as ensuring that the bank is reconciled daily. The bank feed into Sage automatically imports bank transactions so that the bank can be kept up to date and both sales and purchase ledgers are kept accurate.
Pros
Up to date sales ledger
Bank reconciliations
VAT returns
Up to date purchase ledger
Cons
Would be nice to reallocate payments if posted incorrectly instead of having to delete and re enter
The online Sage doesn't appear to have the F6 function which the desktop version does
Would be nice to be able to export the VAT return and detailed VAT in one CVS like Xero does
Likelihood to Recommend
Invoices are easy to enter via the create quick entries option which means bulk sales and purchase invoices can be entered and coded to the correct account without having to keep clicking save and new invoice. This makes it easier to enter numerous invoices at once form the same screen.

We use Sage Accounting to manage all income and expenditure across the business. We also use the integration with Sage Payroll to manage all employees. The easy linking with bank accounts and credit cards and the import of bills through email really speed up the process of tracking payments and reconciling accounts.
Pros

Process bills via email - just set up a rule to forward all invoice emails to Sage Accounting and they are there for you to check and import
Easy integration with Sage Payroll to manage salary payments together with payments to HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs) and pension provider.
Easy VAT calculations and submission to HMRC
Cons
Recurring invoices could be easier to customise to include placeholders that are replaced with name of the month

Very well suited to running our small business including invoicing, bank account reconciliation, processing bills and dealing with HMRC. Payroll and workplace pension is also well handled.
I love the Sage Accounting software because it makes it nice and easy to keep track of money coming in and going out of my business. I no longer have to rely on my memory and complicated spreadsheets to manage my business finances which is fantastic. It takes a lot of guesswork and uncertainty out of the equation for running my business

Cons

I can't think of anything else
No other issues I can think of

Sage is fantastic for solopreneurs and small businesses in general. I'm not sure how well it would work for businesses that run a payroll as I am my only employee.
I have been using Simply Accounting for a long time but the 2015 desktop version. I recently
updated to the Sage Accounting online version, and I wish we would have switched over years
ago. You can access your account from anywhere
which makes things much easier to work from anywhere you want. Depending on the package you choose more
people can access the account and each user’s activity is tracked so you know
who to talk to about a specific transaction. If you email invoices it tracks if the company/person received the invoice and if they open the invoice.
Pros
invoice tracking
input banking transactions
upload and save bank statements
Cons
we use a credit union for one of our accounts - it won't connect but that could be more them than Sage Accounting
Likelihood to Recommend
Easy to use. Tracks your payable and receivables and easy to use bank recs

We switched from Sage 50 to Sage Accounting (cloud), and it's been a real improvement. The cloud version is much easier to use and, more importantly, it lets our whole accounting team share and access data at the same time, without the hassle we had before. It's solved a big collaboration problem for us.
Pros
Easy to use — much simpler interface compared to Sage 50.
Real-time data sharing across the whole accounting team.
Cons
Some features from Sage 50 are missing - we don't see clearly where "Projects" are.
Reporting could be more flexible: customizing reports feels somewhat limited, and I have to go to a separate page/website.
Can be slow at times.
Likelihood to Recommend
It was a good fit for businesses moving away from desktop software like Sage 50 that want something simpler and more accessible. Maybe less suited to businesses with very complex reporting needs or those that rely heavily on advanced features from the desktop version. We are glad that we moved to Sage Cloud.

Cons
