In our organization we use SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). We created an executive dashboard and also we use it for KPI monitoring. We are also creating SAC reports on top of finance data models, HR data models, and also sales data model. We are using it for storytelling and also for data visualization purposes and we are also exploring the option of planning and also forecasting in terms of project management.

Pros

  • We have integrated with BDC and also Datasphere
  • It is easy to connect to SAP Products like BW4HANA, S4HANA, Datasphere
  • It has capability of real time integration with SAP BW

Cons

  • It completely dependent on SAP Backend Modeling
  • Complex data models and large datasets impacts the dashboard performance
  • Object movement between different systems requires governance and release management

  • We have can automated master data loading, also imports can be scheduled
  • SAC can communicate with external web applications too
  • We can use the SAC queries for live connections for realtime data from BW

SAP Analytics Cloud helps slice and dice data in graphical way to our customers to take key business decisions. It helps our business users to understand the complex and huge volume of data in a better graphical format so that they can understand and take actions on the same. It helps our business to check top performers, slice and dice data based various characteristics so that business users can narrow down further to take key business decisions. Main use case that we are solving here is showing the data based on different characteristics and narrow down data based on particular filter at any bar chart or pie chart.
