SAP Business Technology Platform Review
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
A good example of a use case we do is a B2B portal. We build a lot of those on SAP Business Technology Platform. Customers who are looking to connect with their customers and provide a better user experience for them, a way to place orders, view inventory, and deal with them. We send out B2B portals for that use case.
We also do a lot of workflows. So whenever we need to orchestrate many different activities within a business process into a workflow that usually gets data from SAP or ends up in SAP or another system, we'll build that workflow on SAP Business Technology Platform and implement process automation. A good example of that is a journal ledger workflow or a partner onboarding workflow. We build a lot of those on SAP Business Technology Platform as well.
Pros
- It is very easy to use.
- All the documentation around it is geared towards the enterprise use case, unlike some other hyperscalers' platforms.
- The SAP Business Technology Platform is very good because it's got the SAP customer and their business processes in mind. Probably my favorite thing about it is how easy it is to get up and running with a new use case and how well it natively connects to an SAP solution.
Cons
- I think one thing is that sometimes it goes down. I would like better outage alerts and notifications. And then when it does go down, better visibility of when it's going to go back up.
Return on Investment
- I've had customers who have realized ROIs in the millions by using SAP Business Technology Platform. But again, by either making business processes more efficient, eliminating manual tasks, it's really been a big winner for our customers and us.
