Best in class BPM tool

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Control and governance tool for all business workflow in a company of about 250 people. The product handles IPO workflow , customer on-boarding through to annual leave. It was setup to enable users to integrate and manage the whole process themselves via a number of standard templates put in place. The setup was done on time and under budget. I would have no issues using or buying this product again in the future.

Pros

  • Time to market
  • Flexibility
  • Control

Cons

  • More expensive licence than competitors

Likelihood to Recommend

It’s not a transaction platform so don’t try and use it as such you need a custom solution like a calypso or similar. It is a brilliant non-stp solution tool it will make it feel like you have an STP workflow and the reporting service provides real colour on what’s going on in your organisation.

  • Integrate with multiple sources
  • Has mostly all the adapters to connect to legacy and new systems
  • On premise and cloud

Any complex and rich business process is a handy tool. for people who needs a business process to connect to multiple systems and to integrate multiple systems, this is more useful.

ActiveMatrix BPM to be next generation TIBCO BPM, nearly

Rating: 4 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

TIBCO ActiveMatrix has been used as a TIBCO iProcess replacement as a BPM for business processes managing direct sales with the customer (those that are complex and cannot be solved within a day or a single call).

Pros

  • Good process design, clear and new generation Eclipse interface
  • Different levels of data within the process, case management at its full extent
  • Capabilities driven task assignment, no more limits to users & groups

Cons

  • Architecture is quite complex, not that easy to set up and run
  • Still a lot of room to be as stable in production as iProcess was
  • Albeit in version 4 it still feels not mature enough for critical applications

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited on heavily integrated scenarios where it takes advantage of BW integration and therefore it is easy to connect to everything. Complex business processes are welcome also. But if your organization has several environments (DEV, TEST, QA, STAGGING, PROD) and your dev/deploy/admin roles are isolated, promoting software is a bit difficult.

TIBCO BPM APP Developer

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The organization uses the application in one department. In apps are developed BPM processes with external services integration and data orchestration.

Pros

  • It is very easy to project models of processes
  • Very good implemented BPM features
  • You can use OpenSpace api and administrator api to build more complicated things.

Cons

  • Part of BPM Studio connected with development of mediation has many bugs.
  • BPM Studio doesn't contain debugger.
  • Some problems with deployment of more sophisticated projects (ex. Decision Tables).

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very good to implement BPM processes without complication integration and data orchestration. It's not for middle-ware projects with only a small part of BPM.

A precious product...

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's used across the entire organization of an important financial institute. It solves in a great manner the business scenario of the management of long-term business processes offering the possibility to resubmit a task in error. It permits us to represent easily the corporate organization by the organization model. The model is designed to easily define the organization unit and dispatch the proper privilege to them.

Pros

  • Workspace and Openspace Console that offers a powerful method for troubleshooting and viewing the routing within a process
  • Easy representation of the corporate organization
  • Powerful IDE to design a business process as a TIBCO Business Studio BPM Edition
  • Testing and Debugging

Cons

  • Improvement of the simulation

Likelihood to Recommend

The scenario where TIBCO ActiveMatrix is well suited is in the scenario where there are more long-term business processes and in a complex corporate organization where there are many users with different privileges to perform actions on the same processes. It's less appropriate where there are no complex business process especially if the resubmit of the task in error is not required.

My TIBCO ActiveMatrix Review

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM is being used across the organization to design and control the traffic of information between the different Treasury Information Systems. It is use to check and monitor the transactions of the Financial Products.

Pros

  • Simplifies the development of transaction processes in a complex environment
  • It has a complete graphical interface that allows an intuitive use
  • It provides a useful Test Environment

Cons

  • the application pre-designs the structure of the process as it is created and sometimes it is difficult to undo some configurations

Likelihood to Recommend

It is highly recommended to use TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM in an environment with many Information Systems managed by many independent actors. On the other hand, if the number of Information Systems and applications are low or the transactions between them are low it is not recommended.

In addition one has to consider if these processes are susceptible to many changes or if they will be maintained by one or many actors. If they are static or only a few groups of people will design them, it is not recommended also.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I currently support BPM for my client on a daily basis and it is being used across the organisation. On a day-to-day basis, we have had problems with nodes losing connection with EMS. We are communicating currently with TIBCO support to ensure this problem is solved. Apart from this, we are also having a persistent storage error happening.

Pros

  • TIBCO offers multiple ways to implement the sophisticated forms of event-driven BPM. It also balances the combination of business rules and AMX BPM for a different variety of IT Applications
  • It depends on the Enterprise service bus which is message oriented middleware
  • The integration of Spotfire with AMXBPM and BusinessEvents is a unique advantage

Cons

  • It is not very useful for business user led projects because of its weak capabilities for high productivity application authoring
  • It's very expensive
  • The data stored in the BPM product table affects the functioning of the integration

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for high-level analytics or real-time integration among multiple applications. But it's powerful and over complicated and expensive for most small and midsize BPM projects.

BPM is used for visual data discovery. It also has two stream analytics CEP Platforms. It offers high-level real-time analytics and operational intelligence.

Business Process Management for Digital Transformation

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

TIBCO has been a reliable tool for us to use in moving data between our e-commerce systems in our organisation. This platform helps to minimize errors by a significant level. It also presents business data in a clear and easy to understand format.

Pros

  • Ease in linking this to a workbook, the software is very intuitive and provides quick generations of visualizations.
  • Physical business model is changing. The mobile integration and monitoring and management features of this software are really great.

Cons

  • A little bit too conservative. Not really anything leading edge. [Tibco] has plenty of customers, and that means they will probably be around forever, but [product enhancements] seem to be more [abundant in competitor product offerings].
  • It would be great to have some pre-defined themes. Pie chart labels - it would be great to get more options for sizing and placement.
  • I find it hard to trust the online portal too much. I doubt the security that is offered by this software.

Likelihood to Recommend

TIBCO BPM is well suited in these domains: high-productivity app authoring, monitoring and business alignment, rule and decision management, and analytics. But it is not as user-friendly as needed. A lot of customization [is required].
