Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM
TIBCO ActiveMatrix has been used as a TIBCO iProcess replacement as a BPM for business processes managing direct sales with the customer (those that are complex and cannot be solved within a day or a single call).
- Good process design, clear and new generation Eclipse interface
- Different levels of data within the process, case management at its full extent
- Capabilities driven task assignment, no more limits to users & groups
- Architecture is quite complex, not that easy to set up and run
- Still a lot of room to be as stable in production as iProcess was
- Albeit in version 4 it still feels not mature enough for critical applications
- Project management with ActiveMatrix is more costly than it was with iProcess
- Process definition is easier if you rely on capabilities and not user/roles
- Can implement nearly any kind of business process, executing it really well on the very complex
- Superb integration
ActiveMatrix BPM is is (or was, as its future is uncertain) a TIBCO replacement for iProcess. It is not as fast and reliable but it has a new generation of capabilities such as application server architecture, capabilities task routing, process patterns and so on.
It feels it is nearly to be finished. Appian sells a cloud [solution' but it doesn't say that it is only a public cloud and relies on third-party software.
