Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Xmind to present and map our total client profiles. These mindmaps contain information regarding assets, values, goals and a number of various categories to outline important aspects of the individuals we service. Clearly presenting such information allows us to engage with clients, and help us understand the gaps in our knowledge of a particular client.

I use Xmind to map out project scope, take meeting notes, create flowcharts for production processes, and to display departmental information.

Pros

  • Easy to use, simple flowcharts.
  • Multiple functions, flowcharts can be edited to be suitable for a variety of tasks.
  • Displays information in a dynamic and interesting way.

Cons

  • Editing and moving tiles around - having the starting topic fixed can make it tricky to get the desired layout.
  • The use of mathematic functions.
  • Additional layouts like value stream maps, production cycle flowcharts etc.

  • No hard numbers attributed to ROI based on using this program.
  • Efficiency in communicating information has increased.
