Short But Sweet
Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting
It is being used by the accounting department to do everything in our department. It is used for A/R, A/P, Bank Recs, basically everything that we do is through MIP.
Pros
- MIP allows us to add accounts and set up new customers with ease. This allows for a wide variety of customers and allows us to be more precise with our invoices in the system.
- The ability to go down to the funder allows us to help specify where it is we receive funds from.
- The reports generated from MIP allow us to communicate to others across the company what is going on within each program.
Cons
- Creating new statement formats can be tricky. There's no way to be able to use a total as part of another section without messing up the statement
- There is no warning system that allows us to catch things until someone notices them.

We used QuickBooks before hand and it did not handle all of our needs well. It was a very basic and general software, with a lot of holes in it. MIP has been able to handle all of our needs more efficiently and in a manner that does not cause a lot of problems.
