Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting
We use MIP Fund Accounting for the entire organization. We use it for our daily activity as well as managing our endowments.
- MIP allows us to track revenues and expenditures by fund and event. We have five different coding areas that we use to slice and dice our results in various ways.
- We have the allocation module and use it to allocate earnings to our endowments each quarter. It just takes inputting a few fields and hitting the button to perform the allocation. It has some limitations with regards to our coding, but it MUCH easier than performing this allocation manually.
- We love how we can run reports in a variety of ways. It's not overly intuitive, but once you learn how to use the fields, you can do all sorts of different things.
- I'd like for the allocation module to have more options with regards to coding. We must go back to the entry and change some of the coding before posting the entry. It would be nice if this could happen within the allocation process.
- I wish reports allowed for more comparisons that could be set up in columns. We often have to run multiple reports and download to Excel to format the way we want them.
- Downloading in a pdf format is a bit of a challenge. It might be our online hosting that causes the problem, but we can't save the file where we want to without jumping through some hoops.
- We have used MIP for many years so it's hard to measure the impact of the software.
- MIP has been invaluable to allowing us to separate funds by using their coding structure.
We are able to manage our many funds by using MIP's coding. At a previous job, we also used MIP and had many different sources of revenue as well. MIP was very helpful in allowing us to track the funding sources as well as the expenditures.
NonProfit Technologies, Inc. - We utilize cloud hosting through Non Profit Technologies and love how it allows us to access our information from anywhere with an internet connection. There is some setup involved on the computer, tablet or laptop that you'll be using, but once this is worked out, it is very easy to use from anywhere.
We had already been using MIP for many years before I came on board, so we didn't look at other providers. However, we definitely needed a product that was made specifically for non-profits.
