Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's been used for image and other application backups that are replicated to multiple vaults in different locations.

Pros and Cons

Full image backups
Full restores
Full backups of GPT disks

Better reporting capabilities
Support assistance would benefit from more training
Increased support team size
Support team doesn't always get back to you in a timely fashion or as agreed

Return on Investment

Whilst it did not bring any cost savings to our environment, it provided an easy way to create backup images, which became an integral part of our DR.

Scalability

I think more work needs to be done in terms of cost, management and support before it becomes the solution of choice for organisations of all types and sizes.

Ghost., Symantec, BackupExec, ShadowProtect and EaseUS

Symantec BackupExec, ShadowProtect, EaseUS and Ghost.

Likelihood to Recommend

If properly configured it can work well. However, issues aren't normally easy to fix.
