Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

Select users within the Learning & Development department use Adobe Acrobat DC to create and/or edit PDF documents for employee training purposes. The software also allows us to create fillable PDF forms to collect information. With the relevance of PDF documents used in corporate settings, it requires some employees to have the pro software to create and edit the documents beyond converting a Word document to a PDF.
  • Analyze an existing PDF and make fields editable.
  • Convert documents from other programs to a PDF that is full featured.
  • Create a form from a document that allows a user to fill-in information and share.
  • Some features are hidden behind menus or toolbars that are not intuitive.
  • Integration with Adobe Font to find missing fonts when editing an existing document is not seamless.
  • Makes sense as part of Adobe Creative Cloud, but very expensive as a standalone application.
  • Core PDF editing features.
  • PDF conversion from other programs/files.
  • Increased productivity when working with PDF documents.

Adobe Acrobat DC is incredibly powerful and feature-rich on the desktop. The PDF file format is also supported on virtually every computing device that we use. In those cases it is great. Adobe also offers a mobile version of the application and I have found that experience to be lacking. It will allow you to complete some quick and dirty tasks with documents, but not like the desktop experience.
We have had no negative experiences with Adobe related to security and compliance standards. Their applications are regularly updated with the latest security features.

Adobe Acrobat DC is a great program and is very powerful when working with PDF documents. However, it is expensive as a standalone application, but an easy decision when you already have or need Adobe Creative Cloud. There is also the fact that many documents live in the cloud now, where the PDF file format is not necessarily the best option. If you are deep in the Adobe ecosystem and work with PDF documents, then it makes sense.
