Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly

Mainly use it to create product mocks for ecommerce. I just describe the size of the product and its rough dimensions then I generate a scenic backdrop and once I'm satisfied with the result, I just export it and photoshop my actual product into the image. Works great for skincare brands. Other than that, I think I've used it to create random backgrounds that I typically use at low opacity, just something to make the creative a lil busy.

Pros

  • Text to image generation
  • Inspiration board
  • Illustration (different styles)

Cons

  • Maybe I need to get better at articulating my prompts but in some instances I've found better results with ChatGPT image creation, but otherwise I am quite happy. It is as good as it gets.
  • Positive impact: Pitching more services to clients - I now go after a specific niche of clients and I'm able to offer another service (Image creation for ecommerce), earlier I would need to book a photographer, DOP and what not, now I just need Adobe Firefly
  • Positive impact: Save costs on subscriptions - I was able to cut down my Shutterstock subscription because I could use Gen AI
Like I said earlier, I think the tool is pretty good and the thing with AI is, whatever image it generates today is the worst we've seen yet. Meaning, the images already look so good and real, but tomorrow they will look even better.
I like both, I'm subscribed to both. I have more options in terms of design choices with Adobe Firefly.

Do you think Adobe Firefly delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Firefly's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Firefly live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Firefly go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Firefly again?

Yes

Well suited:
1) You're a skincare brand and you want to generate cool looking product images and you don't have the budget to do an actual shoot.
2) You already pay for adobe suite and don't want another subscription like Shutterstock. Of course, Generative AI images will at the end of the day look like Generative AI, especially if there are humans but everyone has cost constraints.

Less appropriate:
1) If you actually have a budget to do a physical shoot and can shoot any sort of image you want.
