Overall Satisfaction with ADP Vantage HCM

The ADP Vantage HCM is being used across the whole organization. The main practitioners of the software are the human resources and payroll departments, but all employees use it via ESS. Before implementation, the organization was using paper as their main method of communication and documentation. It was a slow, arduous, and frustrating process for the users. Our organization stresses a continuous improvement methodology. Therefore, we put several process improvements in place during implementation. Any time you put in a new system, it is a prime opportunity to improve processes. There is now less paper, less frustration, and smoother, streamlined processes.
  • No one does payroll better than ADP. They have a long standing history of being a leader.
  • The support team to which we were assigned post-implementation is outstanding. Their customer service skills are off the charts, and their response time is good. It's a good match-up of personalities.
  • Having a cloud-based system takes a lot of load off an IT department as opposed to an on-premise software. With so many priorities and other systems that an IT department has to support, it is nice to call a dedicated response team to help with issues. If there are payroll issues, especially, a fix needs to quickly get in place so that paychecks go out on time.
  • Having a cloud-based system that also has mobile capabilities allows employees to access the system any time and place.
  • The software is still very new. As with any new software, there is a lot of room for improvement. One good thing about ADP is that they are interested in user feedback to make changes. Also, they incorporate changes fairly quickly.
  • The payroll processing time is longer than I've experienced with other software packages.
  • There are a lot of processes that could be put into the hands of the users instead of having to rely on the response team.
  • From my understanding, Vantage is not a global solution.
  • The software has a lot of potential. There are a lot of improvements they need to make to be more competitive in the marketplace.
  • Better customer service by our HR and Payroll teams because they have more time to interface with the users.
  • Less paper
  • More efficient use of time for the ESS users
  • The software is very new. There are a lot of improvements they should make. We are still working through all of the software's "youth". It does have potential to be good as it matures.
  • JDE,SAP,SuccessFactors,Optimum
There is good and bad with any software that you choose. In the selection process, our organization had narrowed it down to SuccessFactors or ADP Vantage. Both had their strengths. In the past, I've used JDE, SAP, and Optimum. Most of my experience is with JDE. Honestly, I could give you pros and cons with each one of them.
Since we have been on the software, ADP has made major improvements. I've been very impressed! In fact, my company has now decided to implement more modules. The questions below are questions that would be good to ask before you implement the software.

1. Ask about the implementation phases and see if that aligns with your ideal implementation process. Personally, I would have preferred more testing phases.
2. Ask about how they do their training.
3. Ask about what would happen if you had to change your go-live date (process, approximate fees, etc.)
4. Ask about what fees are incurred outside of the mainstream processes. (off-cycle checks, reports that are no longer available in searches, etc.)
5. Ask about the experience level of the consultants you will be assigned for the implementation.
6. Ask about all of the additional service they can perform (tax filing, garnishments, benefits, etc.)
7. Ask about the functionality of the ad hoc reporting tool and its ease of use
