Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
Anaplan is currently being implemented by our company in our Global Finance and Consolidation team. Prior to Anaplan, all of our reporting and analysis work was completed with Excel. This creates a huge margin for error and constant upkeep. With Anaplan we are able to save time on calculations, trust the numbers, and do analysis in real time.
- As a user, I can really trust the calculations in Anaplan. Unlike Excel, there is not incorrect cell somewhere in a cell in the report or an equation that worked one month and not another.
- Anaplan can be completely customized and is very flexible. There are many ways to achieve one calculation and the flexibility allows the user to choose the method that best fits into their business needs.
- Reporting and Dashboarding is really a great tool in Anaplan. We can customize each users views to show them exactly what they need to see and we can pick and choose exactly how the information is displayed. On top of that, these dashboards are interactive, and allow users to jump into any other destination in Anaplan if needed.
- Anaplan could benefit from implementing keyboard shortcuts. Many users of Anaplan come from the Excel world and that is one of my favorite functionalities in Excel.
- Formatting would be an additional perk for our team. We consolidate and calculate all our financial data, but we also do a good deal of reporting that data to the business. Currently we need to extract and format in Excel before publishing.
- Another great function would be a column filter, the current filter is a bit cumbersome to use.
We believed that Anaplan gave us much greater flexibility while still providing a source of data that we can trust. We were looking for not only a data warehouse with retrieve functionality, but a tool to help us calculate and report. We needed something more robust, so these were the big reasons that we chose to go with Anaplan.
