Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
My clients use Anaplan across many different industries (retail, architecture, tech, PE, real estate) for a wide breadth of use cases. Anaplan is flexible and robust as a calculation engine which I've personally implemented for FP&A reporting, revenue forecasting, recruiting, WFP and comp planning, as well as distribution waterfalls.

- Hierarchy changes are immediately reflected throughout model (calculations, reports, etc).
- Single source of truth
- Easy for Excel users to pick up modeling and formula syntax
- Data visualization
- No formula syntax helper built in
- Reliable calculations, reduces room for human error
- Handles data transformation systematically, frees up team for real analysis and moves them away from data processing
I've previously used Hyperion in the past and it's not nearly as robust or flexible as a calculation engine. Anplan allows for a lot more flexibility than previous softwares. It's a great middle ground between having a super rigid system and the ultra flexibility (but at times, lawlessness, of Excel).
