Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan

We help customers implement Anaplan across their organizations. We've really found the tool to be extremely flexible and able to adapt to many use cases.

Pros

Customers are typically coming from Excel. I've always felt that Anaplan needed more excel-like features (freeze pane, expand/collapse, filters, in-cell formulas, etc) to get users to overcome the hurdle of adoption.

From a builders perspective, there are a lot of little nuance bugs/issues that have to be taught. Make the builders experience more intuitive and bug-free.
Anaplan provided a much more flexible backend that allows for modeling out any use case.

Anaplan is a fantastic planning software - it's a blank sheet, so you can really build any model you need. Anaplan has made good progress over the past couple of years enhancing the reporting functionality, but there are other tools better suited for data visualization. The other aspect of the software that is 100% custom (nothing out of the box) is workflow.

Using Anaplan

3 - We focus on Financial Planning and Analysis, Commercial Planning, Capacity Planning, and Program Managment. Anaplan has greatly streamlined all of these processes.
3 - To proficiently manage the system, it really helps to have business acumen and system proficiency. We try to focus on resources that were in the business, but were the power users of their existing systems.
