Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
We use Anaplan for our headcount and workforce planning. The tool helps us in budgeting and forecasting our workforce for both short-term and long-term needs, while also identifying operational gaps across various business functions. It also streamlines and automates the entire hiring and tracking process, from job requisition creation to the final hire, by facilitating collaboration between the Finance, HR, and Operations teams.
Pros
- Forecasting and budgeting
- Scenario planning
- Cross collaboration and connected planning
- Highly customizable - can fit any requirement
- Real time calculation and reporting
Cons
- Models crash during formula editing, no error detection mechanism
- No native integration options to ERP, CRM or HCM
- Needs better version control for code releases
- Performance gets impacted when handling large datasets
- Improved forecast accuracy
- Better alignment across functions
- Increased efficiency and productivity
- Automation of manual efforts
Both platforms are excellent but come with some challenges. They are often complex to configure and offer limited customization options. Their user interfaces are not very intuitive, and their reporting capabilities are somewhat restricted. The total cost of ownership is higher, and they need ongoing maintenance from specialized technical staff. In contrast, Anaplan is a low code/no code platform that typically involves a lower investment, is easier to set up, and delivers faster ROI and quicker time to value.
