Overall Satisfaction with Apache JMeter
We used JMeter for performance and load testing of our cloud service to verify that it worked well with many users before launch and also to be able to calculate costs when scaling up the service for more users.
- Easy load testing to verify system with load from many users
- Very customizable through your own Java code
- Possible to run from a console without any user interface
- Make it easier to record traffic and use that as input during testing
- Ability to simulate many users
- Ability to simulate many parallel threads
- It gave us confidence that the costs would be manageable with many end users
- It gave us confidence that the cloud platform we used would be sufficient
- SoapUI Open Source and supported by SmartBear
SoapUI is a bit easier to get rolling for people without development skills but if you have people with development skills JMeter shines. JMeter also uses significantly fewer resources on the client so you can be sure your testing isn’t restricted by the client machine.
