Overall Satisfaction with Arena

Arena is being used to track engineering change orders and projects within the engineering department. We can also track customer requests and document revision levels. It's also been nice to be able to attach notes and track the status of everything being worked on.
  • Keeps track of project status.
  • Keeps track of why things were changed (revision levels).
  • Manages all active (and passive) projects.
  • It would be nice to have a more active reminder on when things are due.
  • Having a way to be notified or shown what all your tasks are on projects that aren't yours.
  • Not having to log into it every time the page goes inactive for more than a few minutes.
  • We have been able to keep track of VAVE projects.
  • Keep track of changes requested by our customers.
  • Keep track of NPD and where the project is at every step instead of asking people for updates.
  • Product Usability
I was not the person that made the decision to purchase Arena, but if I was that person in the future I would choose it for it's easy to use interface and ability to access it anywhere. It's been nice to be able to use on the road when traveling to customers and directly add information rather than having to wait to get back to the office or just have notes everywhere in my notebook.
As far as I'm aware the implementation of Arena only took a few weeks as there was a lot of information/files that were added (parts and documentation) and setting up the types of ECOs/departments. Once set up, adding more information and tracking projects has been easy because there's a lot of "copy and pasting" that can go on.
At my first job, we used PTC Windchill and I just remember it being a pain to manage and work with. I don't remember the support being great and the user interface was not user-friendly at all. It also seemed really outdated and there seemed to be too much duplicate information.
Arena is well suited for tracking and managing products.
