Overall Satisfaction with AutoCAD
AutoCAD is used across most groups in the engineering department. In most groups it is used as the main design tool to produce drawings and deliverables. In my group it is used mostly to develop vehicles turn radius studies and to analyze traffic flow within a site. A secondary use our group has for AutoCAD is as a middle man for file conversions between many software with formats we cannot bring into Revit directly. So we export to AutoCAD and then load the DWG. files into Revit.
- Precision dimensions.
- Multi software compatibility.
- Vehicle turn radius and traffic tools.
- Easy export.
- 2D and 3D are developed separately.
- Fatal Error is common.
- Limited integrated information to design.
