Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work in the reactive side so Auvik is mostly used in cases where I am trying to track down something in the network like a switch that went offline. Auvik has saved me multiple times when I am trying to walk a non-IT end-user through tracing cables to find a network device or a specific port that may be causing issues.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Showing devices in the network
Showing how devices are connected
Switch management
Being able to see link speed and usage

Cons

It'd be nice to be able to customize tabs.
It'd be nice to be able to print detailed network maps.
I would like a way for it to be more obvious when a switch password expires.

I am not sure, I do not deal with this side of it, but I do know that since we got it, the value has never been questioned.

Likelihood to Recommend

Auvik is very well suited for being able to find or show where devices are. It has a very nice map where you can just simply click on the link between which will show pretty much and information you need to know about that connection and where to look. It is also very nice for seeing traffic on a connection, say a connection is slow and you are trying to figure out if there is a loop, messed up cable, or just a bunch of traffic.
