Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Avanan across the entire organization as [an] email security solution. We mainly purchased Avanan to block the phishing attacks that Microsoft EOP misses, which is a lot!

Return on Investment

Positive - It [prevents] phishing attacks, plain and simple! This will save money in the long run as who knows how many times someone would have fallen for a fake Purchase Order, etc.

We have had a few issues with support getting back to us in a timely manner. For the most part, they have been helpful, but we are currently having an issue with [the] Outlook Blocked Senders list not working since our implementation. This has been going on for weeks with no resolution.

Usability

Avanan is easy to use, but I do wish we had some more [customizability]. I also wish you could send yourself test emails with what the end-user would see if they got an email from an admin.

Avanan is well suited to block all the phishing attacks that Microsoft EOP misses. They catch/block 95-99% of what Microsoft EOP misses!

They could have a cleaner interface but are making some improvements in that regard. They could also do a better job with SPAM and giving you more information on anomalies.
