Overall Satisfaction with Azul Platform Core

We use Azul Platform Core to run our heavy single booking system backend that is very heavy on memory. We used to have big problems with GC pause times as well as class loaders causing very slow response times after releases.
Azul Platform Core helped us resolve both issues and with the help of Zing Vision we now have a much better control over any similar problems that can occur.

  • More introductions on how to use their additional tooling
  • Cost savings compared to going with Oracle
  • Since using Azul Platform Core our system has been much more stable with fewer crashes causing our team being able to focus on new features
It is very easy to migrate from other JDKs, in our experience, you can just switch over.
However, if you want to take full potential of Azul's Platform Core you will have to spend some time exploring the differences with your old JDK and how you can optimize it to run in the best way for your use case.
We have had plenty of contact previously with the Azul Platform Core's support team. They provided us with ways of debugging our JVM crashes and upload data to a provided FTP server where their support employees could assist by reviewing our special cases. The help they provided has been invaluable in optimizing our JVM.
