Overall Satisfaction with Bamboo

We currently use Bamboo to help with our continuous integration and deploy process in our Salesforce workload. We use it to get the latest from Bitbucket and run a compilation before we move the source code up to production. We have used it for testing in the past as well.
  • It is fairly light weight and can be easily customized
  • Very easy to set up
  • Integrates well with other Atlassian products
  • Additional cost if you want agents on other cloud services
  • Requires a dedicated machine and can require a decent amount of processing power depending on the agent you are running
  • Seamless set up for CI / CD
  • Repeatable performance to see workloads getting built.
  • Good integration with other tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams.
Bamboo is a highly configurable product with a lot of options that allow it to be used with several systems. Its fairly lightweight design allows it to be easily configured and deployed on an array of resources.
Support for Bamboo has started lack a little over the years. Atlassian has been moving more towards Bitbucket Pipelines and away from the on-premise install of Bamboo. While the tool is still great, it may take a little bit of time to get a question answered by official support.
We looked at Bitbucket and some other providers but they did not have the full requirements that we needed from a customization perspective. We wanted customization while keeping a lot of the configurability intact.
If you are already using other Atlassian tools and were not keen on trying out Bitbucket Pipelines, then Bamboo is a good choice. It has most if not more functionality than its competitor and has great usability and customization. With the cost and ease of set up there wouldn't be too many other reasons not to use it
