Overall Satisfaction with BDRSuite

I'll repeat- the product does a great job but, in my opinion, the user interfaces suck. I'm often left guessing what is going on in the background and navigating the interfaces is cryptic - maybe it's a language or translation issue. I need to give my clients better reports than stuff is backed up and restorable. With cleaner interfaces and more tools to evaluate the backups this could be a superior product. Then the licensing! In my opinion, the licensing model is worse than Microsoft and after three years it still is a mess. This needs to be fixed!
We are Cyber Security and Technology consultants. We are also partners/resellers of Vembu BDRSuite backup products. We use Vembu BDRSuite in our organization and four of our clients are using Vembu BDRSuite. Three of our clients need simplified disk-to-disk-to-cloud backups and one is using cloud M365.

Pros

  • Easy to install and configure
  • Backups are granular for easy recovery
  • Low resource overhead

Cons

  • User interface on the servers do not have enough tools to better monitor the systems and finding information is difficult.
  • User interface at portal is difficult to navigate and confusing
  • Support documentation is too generic and rarely answers my questions.
  • Licensing and acquisition. As a reseller and partner the licensing model is confusing and the portal interface to manage licensing should be scrapped and rebuilt. It is difficult to navigate and the available information is too vague.
  • Recently, communication with new channel contact. My previous contact was articulate and answered my questions.
  • Did I mention licensing? This is the most confusing and difficult process I've dealt with in 25 years. Makes Microsoft look simple.
  • Low cost as compared to other products/services
  • Simplified disaster recovery and deployment
  • Less time spent managing the backups
  • More time and energy wasted on the licensing and acquisition- BAD
  • We have a new channel contact - communication is very poor

This product is great for small businesses who need a cost effective, efficient, and simple method preserving data and disaster recovery for information this product does not provide more details on backups and of enough information to troubleshoot issues.
