Overall Satisfaction with Bloomberg Terminal

daily. it is a daily part of my work as I am a portfolio manager. the problems is some changes in functions like port or GF as I used to use a lot.
but it is a matter of time
the data limit download is an issue as one want to analyze a lot of data because Bloomberg Terminal cannot do it

  • include equity statement in its FA function (there is balance sheet, P&L, cash flow statement, but not equity statement)
  • having some tools ready to use (BI, Xls tamplates)
  • negative: do not able to download data
  • negative: graph of your options strategy
  • negaitve: correlation of full portfolio, just limited
even though it has been long time first time I use Bloomberg Terminal. learging to new peers takes time. It's not intuitive. You don't go through menus; you use comands instead. This s a language you must learn.
Finviz website is more friendly and is newr. Bloomberg Terminal looks old with The screen is often a dense mosaic of multiple windows, charts, and data feeds, all using a dated color scheme and font. It's an information firehose.
Complexity: There are tones of funcitons. Finding the exact one you need takes time.

I select Bloomberg Terminal because of switching costs. I started with ith and learn a new software is not easy.

The Bloomberg Terminal is well suited for:
Real-time market data and trading: is the orign all data. It provides up-to-the-minute data
Financial analytics and research: BI function is really good as you can have deep knowladge on several sectors.
Portfolio and risk management: Port funtion is really good ( i guess still good with new update)
