Overall Satisfaction with Brightmine
Brightmine is the first place I go to for general guidance on employment law and general HR advice. I use it to help with HR process improvements and when coaching my staff on complex HR queries. I use it weekly, on average. Recently I've been reviewing our business processes for TUPE transfers and I've consulted the Brightmine resources extensively.
Pros
- Provides very detailed and up to date employment law guides on different topics.
- There is an extensive suite of letter templates.
- I particularly like the way each page has a bulleted summary at the top, with links to the detailed guidance below.
- There is an extensive range of FAQs for every topic and these usually answer any questions I might have.
Cons
- It would be useful to have an interactive flowchart for TUPE. There is a flowchart, but just for the election of representatives.
- I have trust in the information provided and know that I don't need to consult other sources of guidance, so that saves me and my team time.
- I know I can rely on the information to be accurate and that ensures that the advice that I'm giving my team and they are giving staff and managers is accurate.
- The templates have provided good starting points when developing new processes and procedures, so again that has saved us time.
I can't speak for the wider HR department, but in terms of the advice my team are providing staff and managers, I'm confident that it's compliant with current UK employment law. We have also used it extensively when reviewing our processes to check compliance, TUPE and criminal record checking being recent examples.
Brightmine has played a minor role in helping us stay compliant, together with other resources.
