Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms

I have to design with routers, and the customer always says that the Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms is the best option if you want to use SDWAN. For this reason, I always have to design with SDWAN I choose 8000. In addition that if I compare it to ISR4000 we have much more performance with SASE, data, collaboration, etc.

Pros

  • C8200-1N-4T SD-WAN IPsec throughput
  • Number of firewall sessions 512,000
  • Interface flexibility Layer 2 (Switched) and Layer 3 (Routed) ports

Cons

  • Licensing because if you dont have license, yo cant use it
  • Cost because ISR4000 is cheaper than 8000
  • Better experience with Cisco ThousandEyes and catalyst 8000
  • SDWAN
  • CLOUD
  • SERVICES PROVIDER
  • Positive because yo have much powerfull
  • Negative is expensive.
  • Some Clients doesnt like subscripcion.
I have to design, some things I have to use ISR4000 depending on throughput, also ISR1100, Routers RV small business, and ASR1000. If you need to use a device to SDWAN or cloud, you have to use 8000 because ASR1000 has many throughputs of data, but for security, and performance 8000 is the best option.

Cisco Industrial Ethernet 4000 Series Switches (IE 4000), Cisco Industrial Ethernet 4000 Series Switches (IE 4000), Cisco 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers (ASR 9000)
Most appropriate. Cloud, SDWAN, services provider, and the new technology of SASE. Not appropriate. Small business, because Catalyst 8000 Edge Platforms is a robust solution if you need to use a router, could be you can use ISR1100 yo also have SDWAN but in this case, the architecture is low and poor compared to catalyst 8000.
