Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches

The Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches extended our network infrastructure by increasing the number of access ports and also distribution using 10G uplink ports with SFP+ gbics. The models that are used are the C9200-24P and C9200-48P with PoE on all ports. We decided to invest and place these switches in our topology because they are very secure and have all the necessary resources, such as Macsec and DHCP Snooping, to never allow intruders to gain access to the internal network. The C9200 switches' POE ports power network equipment used such as IP phones and Wi-Fi access points.
  • It is a model that has mGig ports that we use for high speed uplink ports.
  • Power of 740w in power over ethernet on all ports we use to power wireless access points.
  • We use the stacking feature to manage a switch stack in the datacenter with a single IP.
  • Smartnet warranty is something very valuable for support.
  • Switch with layer 2 and layer 3 and advanced routing.
  • Smartnet 8x5NBD is preferred over Smartnet 24x7 because it is more expensive.
  • Network segmentation with Vlans improves logical security.
  • Sustainability and energy savings.
We haven't used virtualization features yet. In our scenarios the switches are stacked with unified management.
They are manageable with the Cisco stack and management software. We have the topology of all installed switches, alarms, scheduled updates, and other things.

A suitable scenario for this switch solution with Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches is recommended at the edge and distribution. In smaller scenarios it can even be a Core because it has advanced layer 3 routing functions such as OSPF, RIP, EIGRP. The Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches is useful for connecting workstations, access points, telephones, printers and other switches. We used the Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches with POE in our scenario and created a secure network with VLAN segmentation.
