Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches
These are innovative and robust edge switches that were implemented just over a year ago at the headquarters due to infrastructure restructuring and technology park modernization. The old 2960S switches were removed and replaced by the Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches, all models with power over ethernet ports. We use these switches for edge, distribution and also for static routing and OSPF in the network. In the core and distribution, it was decided to place redundant sources to prioritize the high availability of the network and keep it always On.
- Redundant power supply and fans. The priority is to keep the network always operational and available.
- Modular uplinks with option to choose the type of port and desired speed. We chose SFP+ ports and used trasceivers and twinax cables to connect to servers and other switches.
- Dynamic routing used to do routing between the internal network.
- ACLs, QoS, MSTP, ARP Spoofing and other features we use.
- Robust construction and excellent performance.
- It does not have BGP routing capabilities.
- It is expensive network equipment for smaller scenarios.
- It brought positive impacts to the organization with a restructuring in the LAN and WLAN network. It was safer and faster.
- It brought more management flexibility.
- No negative impact.
No virtualization function.
The Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches were implemented by IT and we have been visualized through a web interface of the software. Some are CLI-accessible for one-off configurations. It's extremely easy.
