Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9600 Series Switches

  • Catalyst 3850 Series
  • Other
They are the backbone of our network operation--data, wireless, and VoIP solutions.
  • LAN segregation
  • VLAN trunking
  • VoIP
  • QoS rules over VoIP
  • SNMP implementation with third parties
  • Central management tool cost is too high
  • Hardware is great and durable
  • Easy to implement
  • If you know Cisco CLI, you can configure almost any device
Our environment doesn't change too much--it's pretty much configured once for the right scenario. Most of the capabilities of the switches will depend in whether you have a license coverage. Cisco offers a three-year opt-in with the purchase of the switches.
We manage those switches primary via CLI. All the switches have the option to manage via CLI or GUI depending on user requirements.
They have more robust protocols; also you don't need to pay subscription. Pretty much those switches are configured once.
