They are being used to configure access for users and as distribution layers for the access switches. In some cases we have these switches as core switches for buildings.
  • Aggregation points
  • Access Points
  • Core Users
  • Use stand by configuration and not the "on enter command"
  • Because you can stack switches you can use the scheme of play as you grow that reduces the initial investment.
We have not used this capabilities because we have centralized all of our virtualization in a data center where we are using NEXUS technology.
We have benefited from this capabilities on some switches because we can upgrade the number of ports if needed later on.
We are using the 2 technologies in different environments. We have not tested other switches in the same environments.
These are very flexible switches that can be placed in very different places and scenarios. Depending on the traffic size you will use one or the other but it's still the best solution for switches.
