Overall Satisfaction with Cisco DNA Center

We deployed this for a dedicated hospital patient network for a customer. We wanted analytics and alarming through DNAC.

Pros

  • Config dumps and review
  • DVR outage capatilities
  • Hardware failures

Cons

  • It's difficult to deploy and configure
  • It's difficult to maintain.
  • It is very expensive.
  • If there are issues it's difficult to fix them without TAC
  • Upgrading software is easier
  • Better visiblity
  • Great for users that aren't good with CLI to see how the network is performing.
I liked the on prem server option.

For smaller networks I don't think it's appropriate mainly because of cost. If there was a more cost friendly option for smaller deployments it would be great. It's great for visibility.
