Overall Satisfaction with Cisco DNA Center

We used DNA Center to automate the deployment of about 10,000 users ports in an SD-Access fabric. We use it every day to manage it.

Pros

  • pnp deployment
  • SWIM
  • device 360
  • Template deployment

Cons

  • UI, some configuration is very rigid, like assignement of devices to a floor.
  • The dynamic templates need a way to pull the variables from a source of truth
  • we deploy faster
  • we finally can manage the versions of IOS across the entire network easily
Prime was being end of lifed, so the choice was easy. Although it was still very new when we aquired it, we trusted Cisco to deliver a working platform.

Do you think Cisco Catalyst Center delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Catalyst Center's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Catalyst Center live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Catalyst Center go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Catalyst Center again?

Yes

The VPN gateway could not handle the number of remote users on day 1 of the stay at home orders. Fortunately, our Cisco SE helped us setup a virtual ASA large enough to handle all the traffic. We were back to normal within a single Day. The help was greatly appreciated.
Deployment an SD-Access fabric is incredibly simple. The pnp experience is also very good. This was even the case in earlier version. These two things are very mature at this point. But, failure to deploy on devices do happen and when they do I found it to not be very descriptive as to what the problem was.
