Overall Satisfaction with Cisco IP Phones

Cisco IP Phones enable our contact centre agent to have a trusted and reliable standalone device to make and receive calls. Cisco IP phones have the advantage that they are not tied to the users workstation, so if a workstation needs an update or gets busy for a moment, then the call quality does not suffer.

Pros

  • Make and receive calls
  • Extension Mobility
  • Cisco FIPPA

Cons

  • Easier integration with 3rd Party bluetooth headsets (e.g. Apple AirPods)
  • Firmware update can sometimes fail and render the phone unusable
  • A hard reset of the phone can take 5 - 10 minutes
  • Cisco IP Phones running FIPPA enables developers / 3rd line engineers become available for customer calls even if their workstation is busy.
  • Cisco IP Phones are easy to integrate into Cisco Call Manager and can be up and running in minutes.
  • Cisco IP Phones are the most reliable devices we have in the building. We have some Cisco IP phones which are nearly 20 years old and they still work perfectly.
Cisco IP Phones were selected due to the following:
1) The 100% compatibly with our existing infrastructure and with the Contact Centre software
2) Ease of configuration
3) Ability to run the contact centre software directly on the phone
4) We already had good experience with older models of Cisco IP phones
The video (and audio) quality of the Cisco IP Phones is so good that it has increased the amount of instances that our users switch on their video.
Some users also commented that other people in their video call would ask them what device they were using as the quality was so high.
1) The devices rarely go wrong
2) Cisco is quick to troubleshoot or to arrange an RMA if the device is faulty
3) There are frequent software updates for these devices

Do you think Cisco IP Phones delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco IP Phones's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco IP Phones live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco IP Phones go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco IP Phones again?

Yes

1) Cisco IP Phones running FIPPA are very useful for 3rd line developers who need to use 100% of the resources of their workstation on developer activities. This means that the developer can continue to take calls even if his workstation is busy or rebooting.
2) Cisco IP phones are less useful for workers who work from home a few days a week. For those users we would suggest they use Jabber or a similar softphone.
