Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points
We do use Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points for our customers in many kind of environments. From office, manufacture, healthcare, production, warehousing and more, we’ve used MR (Meraki Radio) in all these. Since there’s a wide offer of models, these can fit in everywhere. Of course the MR are now less chosen due to the hardware changing.
Pros
- Specifications
- Many different types/choises
- External and internal antenna’s
Cons
- Advanced RRM missing
- Advanced RF settings missing
- More limited troubleshooting
- Reliable dashboard
- Reliable hardware
- Good performance
The Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points and Meraki overall is made for ease of use and deployment. I haven’t worked with many vendors that have such a good and fluent way of onboarding, configuring of access points. This is made for professionals but also people with less knowledge, so they can easily monitor or even add extra access points.
The Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points are managed through the Meraki Dashboard and they both work perfectly together. It all works very fluent and onboarding, configuring, maintaining and monitoring is very easy for everyone. The dashboard gets more and more updates in terms of config and visibility, so the future looks even more bright.
Nowadays the catalyst and meraki hardware became one. You can use C9100 series access points and use them in the WLC or in Meraki dashboard, giving a lot of flexibility and options for customers. You can also migrate from and to the WLC and the process itself is very easy to use.
