Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MS

We resell Cisco Meraki MS all the time. The visibility in the dashboard is really great, usage of ports etc is great. Setting up vlans and grouping switches by using tags are very simple. Our consultants are very happy with using the products and so is the customers. They are also sturdy, I don’t see any support cases either. Meaning that I’m confident reselling the MS series.

Pros

  • Visibility
  • Ease of configuration
  • Reliability

Cons

  • Resell the MS through distribution
  • Please use the same OS in the Catalyst and Meraki series
  • Customers believe in the platform and keeps inevesting
  • Creates stickiness
It creates trust. The are less human error in the configs. Less time spent on projects. More people can work with the solutions. One customer faced an power outage a week ago and we were able to immediately locate which switch that had not been powered on after the power outage using the Meraki dashboard. This shortened the time to identify the error and get back to production faster.
The visibility over the network
If a customer wants to set up a new site the products are sent over to the new site and can be mounted by unskilled IT staff. Highly skilled staff can stay at any chosen location and configure the new site centrally using the same base config template. API inventory pull creates visibility for LCM
Meraki MX should be accompanied with the Security license to provide routing an security capabilities. The MX series provide great insite and is foundational to Meraki SD WAN and for setting up Cisco Secure Connect or the more advanced SASE solution from Cisco. Meraki MX is also available as vMX and can be deployed with various cloud providers.

I would recommend using Meraki with customers that is looking fora stable not too complex network solution. If the IT department is small and they have to handle many remote offices, the Meraki solution is ideal. The insight to the network connectivity is great with a very useful dynamic, up to date, network map out.
