Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki SD-WAN

We implemented the MX devices to connect all our sites with redundant connections. At each site we primarily use high speed fiber and support failover with a combination of Enterprise class cable or 5G technology. The system is far easier to setup and maintain than others and can be managed part time by existing IT staff, eliminating the need for dedicated firewall experts or outsourcing.
  • Failover to backup lines easily
  • Easy to configure
  • Easy to implement rule set
  • Advanced intersite routing to force specific traffic out one or more exits
  • Good ROI for us because we do not have to outsource management or hire a dedicated resource to manage
  • Lifetime hardware support is excellent.
  • Tech support is excellent and reachable.
  • The yearly licensing is pricey, but when you need the support, it makes it worth it.
The license fees are pricey, but the system is so simple and easy to understand we end up saving enough time and money to make it worth the cost. Hardware is very reliable and easy to deploy
We are able to integrate to other services to further enhance our security and monitoring. Being able to monitor threats through the same dashboard it a time saver.
Solution just works with very little time and effort. It only requires basic knowledge from a talented tech.
The Sonic wall and Cisco ASA required a lot of trial and error to get up and running. Rules and configurations were difficult to setup and were not intuative. Meraki is very ituative.

Do you think Cisco Meraki SD-WAN delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Meraki SD-WAN's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Meraki SD-WAN live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Cisco Meraki SD-WAN go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Meraki SD-WAN again?

Yes

If you have a concern about requiring one or more dedicated resources to handle just the security and configuration, this is an easy-to-manage choice that can be run by most IT professionals with good networking base knowledge. They don't need Cisco or other certifications and training to be able to run it effectively. However if you are a larger organization with some robust and specific routing needs, the easy of use design my limit some of your options. For example if you want to route WAN traffic for a certain destination out one exit point on your WAN, you cannot do that.
