Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki SD-WAN

We use Cisco Meraki SD-WAN to enable higher availability, performance based routing and decentralized internet using complimentary products such as Cisoc Secure Access by locally routing internet traffic outside the AutoVPN services

Pros

  • Ease of Access and setup
  • High Visibility of data and traffic
  • zero touch provisioning for hardware

Cons

  • Active WAN ports. currently limited to 2 plus 1 backup
  • duplication of traffic over multiple AutoVPN tunnels
  • more granular data via the dashhboard
  • positive in delivering a single pane of glass management platform where policies and configuration can be centralised and shared
  • negative where features and functionality are being discussed and in development but clear and committed delivery timelines are not published or shared.
deployment of Cisco Meraki SD-WAN has been relatively easy for network engineers who are accustomed to working CLI across various platforms. easy of adoption is relatively easy
Limited larger scale hardware. This should be addressed by C8455 but the costs on the larger hardware are 300% higher than the previous large scale box.
