Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches

We currently use Cisco NEXUS 9000 Series Switches in our DC for managing the core network plus also Top of Rack and SAN. This enables us to have a common switch type across our most valuable network which is both reliable and can deal with high through put of data, but simple to use.

Pros

  • Throughput
  • Adaptability
  • Simplicity

Cons

  • Firmware Upgrade process could be simplified
  • Better uptime
  • More reliable
  • Less bugs compared to previous swtches
Cisco NEXUS 9000 Series Switches has enabled us to expand our VMware estate on prem without having to purchase more switches. The throughput on these Cisco NEXUS 9000 Series Switches allow it to take extra resource in its stride.
No issues, no complaints from customers, easy to maintain
Again these switches were as good and capable as the 9000s, however we got hundreds of critical bugs on the older series that don't appear to b eon the newer switches

Would you buy Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches again?

Yes

Datacentres whether it is for Core, Top Of Rack or SAN it's great, enables high throughput and yet at achievable costs. I especially like using it as SAN switches compared to other SAN switches as it can be simpler to manager
I wouldn't use it for campus or remote sites for the cost that it comes at and the additional setup that would be required.
