Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Routers

  • Cisco ISR 800 Series
  • Cisco ISR 4000 Series
  • Cisco ASR 1000 Series
Cisco Routers are in use to provide support for multi-protocol routing and basic ACL functionality. They provide our BUs with reliable connectivity options to the internet and branch locations.
  • Route packets and connect to circuit vendors
  • TAC support for routers is great
  • Hardware longevity is awesome as well
  • They need to finish the SD-WAN integration with Viptela
  • Cisco hardware and support is at the upper end of the prices for route/switch which sometimes makes it hard to get the same ROI
  • Cisco is usually supported by third-party tools
Comparability is always a concern and Cisco is generally compatible with most other vendors products.
Cisco routers and the ability to run SNORT IPS and upload those logs to a Splunk server
Cisco Routers are very reliable and have a long MTTF.
Cisco Routers are more reliable have better support and a good reputation
Cisco Routers are great in data centers. Other vendors come into play in the smaller router sizes.
