Overall Satisfaction with Cisco SD-WAN

We used Cisco Viptela SD-WAN to provide customer solutions, mostly customers are using SD-WAN for two reasons in Sri Lanka: 1. Direct internet access to access their cloud servers and SaaS applications such as O365, SAP, and 2. Single pane of glass management with full visibility of their MPLS network.
  • Direct internet access.
  • Single pane of network management.
  • Application aware routing.
  • Edge security.
  • Cloud on ramp SaaS / IaaS.
  • Integration with third-party application such as Active Directory.
  • User base policy impose.
  • Single sign-on.
  • IPsec tunnel survival via private links (MPLS VPN).
  • Centralised management dashboard.
  • Zero-touch provisioning.
  • There is a significant impact on ROI in the long run, such as no need to invest for security, not requiring a third-party dashboard for the centralised management like legacy network.
  • Direct internet breakout option reduced the demand for MPLS bandwidth for branch internet.
  • Further, customers can make financial decisions based on the analytics functions with 1-year historical data (i.e. BW requirement for a particular branch).
All the products are providing similar functions in terms of SDWAN perspective. Furthermore, according to their origination and expertise they differ as follows: Cisco is strong on routing and switching domain, Fortinet is strong on security domain. According to customer needs we can select the vendors.
