Cisco UCS Series review.
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco UCS Series
We used Cisco UCS as the host for our stretched clusters. We have 2 clusters of 24 nodes each, providing us active-active recovery solution for our in-house systems, we choose the UCS because it gave us the ability to automate the deployment and to control the firmware updates and profiles of our servers, along with Cisco Intersight we were able to get all under control and ready to serve our stake-holders.
Pros
- Firmware update
- Hardware reliability
- Customer support
Cons
- UCS manager user interface
- Not sure

- Improve our performance in our distribution center.
- Improve efficiency due less number of failures.
- Better control of our HW footprint.
It integrates perfectly with Cisco NEXUS switches, which we use on our infrastructure, giving us a seamless experience on the implementation and configuration.
We spend less time preparing our new servers when we need to upgrade our infrastructure or replace a failing one. It also makes easier to keep track of upgrades and patching required for the HW to be up to date and out of issues and failures.
Yes, we all are very happy with the choice we made with Cisco UCS.
