Overall Satisfaction with Citrix DaaS

My organization uses Citrix DaaS as our remote desktop tool. It allows our team to push updates and control the environment our staff work on/in from any computer, personal or business. It can be deployed on-prem or in the cloud. We leverage a mixture of cloud + on-prem for best service results.

Pros

  • Desktop Isolation.
  • User flexibility, accessing data from any device.
  • Easily scale up and down.
  • Maintenance

Cons

  • The ability to run webinars and virtual meetings from within DaaS.
  • Recently, support has been lacking.
  • Licensing is very high.
  • Mobile device experience.
  • When users break or lose their computers, DaaS keeps their desktops the same regardless of the device they connect with.
  • DaaS cloud has had some outages recently that's had a negative affect.
  • Troubleshooting can take dedication, as Citrix points at everything besides its product.
From an end-user perspective, Citrix DaaS is ideal. No matter the device that the user connects with, the end user's experience is always the same. Desktop icons are there, along with the files. As a big name, Citrix allows for SAML authentication or a local account. End users do not need a beefy laptop to have a good experience in DaaS.

Do you think Citrix DaaS delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Citrix DaaS's feature set?

Yes

Did Citrix DaaS live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Citrix DaaS go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Citrix DaaS again?

Yes

DaaS is ideal in large-scale environments that require centralized, secure management. Remote workforces at large organizations. Highly regulated industries like finance. It allows for easy security and monitoring over one aspect instead of multiple remote machines. DaaS is not ideal for organizations with small budgets due to the pricing and organizations with lousy network connectivity. This would make the end-user experience terrible.
