Overall Satisfaction with CodeSignal

As an aspiring software engineer, I have used CodeSignal over the past several months to help me prepare for technical interviews which evaluate my technical problem-solving skills. I have also used CodeSignal to complete technical challenges for various companies to help them make decisions regarding my candidacy. In particular, I have utilized the "interview practice" section extensively to prepare for particular areas where I require improvement.
  • Variety of questions separated reasonably into different categories.
  • Organized and useful courses.
  • Clean and easy-to-use online code editor.
  • CodeSignal homepage can be difficult to use; the "recommended next task" isn't always useful or optimal.
  • A hidden dropdown menu underneath the brand logo can be hard to find; I had difficulty finding the "interview practice" button. Would be preferred to keep it on the top bar where "my profile", "test center" etc are.
  • I don't believe that the CodeSignal currency is useful; it seems to be an unnecessary distraction.
  • Ability to provide one coding report to more than one company - streamlines and simplifies the initial technical screen.
  • CodeSignal has helped me earn interviews with several software engineering companies.
When compared to other similar services such as HackerRank and Leetcode, CodeSignal's main strength is the verification of candidates, and the ability for those candidates to complete one technical screen which can be submitted to many recruiters at once which improves the candidate experience and saves them time. However, when looking for general algorithm discussion, looking for problems assigned by specific companies, and looking for a wide variety of problems, other platforms such as Leetcode do it better. Furthermore, the solutions to coding problems in Leetcode are generally in-depth and help one learn.

Do you think CodeSignal delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with CodeSignal's feature set?

No

Did CodeSignal live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of CodeSignal go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy CodeSignal again?

Yes

Useful when one needs to provide a technical screening to a recruiter, or when one wants a quick practice in a particular area such as Dynamic Programming or backtracking. It is less useful in general practice cases, when one wants to engage or participate in discussions regarding the problem, when one wants to practice problems that are commonly given by a particular company, or when one wants a wide variety of problems that are innovative and unique.

Using CodeSignal

1 - I am the only user of codeSignal, I use it to prepare for technical interviews and complete assessments from prospective companies who require a codeSignal test as part of their interview process. I am a software engineer and frequently use codeSignal when interviewing and preparing for interviews.
No one, I use codeSignal as a user
